About

The foundation honors the memory of Federico “Fred” Cuevas.

Reflecting on the past 10+ years, we are grateful and overwhelmed by the support of the community in honor Fred’s legacy and success we have achieved in the fight against diabetes.

To date, the foundation has donated over $40,000 to the American Diabetes Association, JDRF, other organizations and college scholarships.  All funds are primarily raised through the staple fundraising event, the Kick Diabetes Soccer Camp. It is a 3-hour youth soccer clinic for kids, ages 3 to 12 — held every summer at Clear Falls High School.

Fred was born on October 26, 1983. He was a naturally gifted athlete and excelled at soccer, swimming, and water polo.  He achieved numerous athletic accolades throughout his time at Clear Creek High School and Texas Christian University.

However, as successful as he was in sports, he was more successful in life. He genuinely and positively affected the lives of people around him on a daily basis. He approached all aspects of his life in the same manner that he approached the game of soccer; giving it his all and leaving nothing on the field. It is due to this overwhelming sense of love that he bestowed upon us, that we get together every year in his memory and celebrate his life through his namesake foundation.

We are looking forward to the next camp in 2024! The past several years we have hosted over 125 people in attendance including coaches, volunteers and campers at the event.
